Karnataka bandh on June 22 to oppose the increase in electricity rates!
The Karnataka Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KCC&I) has called for a one-day Karnataka bandh on June 22 to protest against the hike in electricity rates in Karnataka.
In the background of the Karnataka bandh call, industries across the state will be on bandh on June 22. All trades and industries will be shut down. The bandh has received support from more than 25 district chambers.
On June 10, KCCI had imposed a deadline of one week to the Congress government to immediately withdraw the hike in electricity rates. If the price hike is not withdrawn, all industries will be closed and a protest has been warned.
Against this backdrop, KCC&I, Eskom has called for a bandh against the abnormal increase in electricity rates.
We have called for this bandh to draw the attention of the government in the background of failed attempts to convince the state government. Through this, we hope that the government will respond to our request.
